Subscription Boxes: DesignHerKit Review

Hello Vancity Girlfriends!  

As you know I LOVE beading and jewellery making! Now when I first discovered Whimseybox which is a monthly craft subscription box for $20/month, I was in awe that you can have a craft with all of supplies in a box.  However, over time, I discovered that I had crafts that were left undone because I didn't know much about that craft.

That led me on a journey to self discovery that I don't just like ANY craft, I really LOVE beading and jewellery making!  Then I found DesignHerKit which is a monthly subscription box for exactly that!  DesignHerKit is a Canadian company and I scooped the offer when the start up business was gathering funds to operate through Indiegogo.  I loved the fact that it's a box from CANADA.  So for a change, there are no extra shipping fees for Canadians.  

DesignHerKit is affordable at $19/month.  The kit comes in a gold foil envelope and inside are all of the supplies that you need to make three projects.  Here's what I received for my first DesignHerKit January 2014.

 In one afternoon, I finished all three projects!  I'm an experienced beader so I could work with the photo to put together the projects, however, I did notice that if you are a beginner, you can go to the DesignHerKit Craft Table that will have step-by-step instructions on how to complete the pieces.  I found that the projects were simple enough for all levels.  

The best part is that I have inspiration for jewellery and a groovy necklace that I've already started wearing.  Fashion forward and friendly!  

I love this Canadian subscription box and I can't wait for my next DesignHerKit. 

Wantable November Accessories Subscription Box Review

We were super excited at our last vlog night because we both received our Wantable Accessories Subscription Boxes for November.  
This is a jewellery box that is curated based on your personal style and taste.  They know this because when you subscribe, you need to complete the style quiz that tells Wantable what you LIKE, LOVE, and HATE.  Simple enough.  
In your box, you'll receive what you LIKE and LOVE and they'll avoid what you HATE.  I love the quality of the accessories in the Wantable Accessories Subscription box and the surprise of receiving a gift in the mail.

Wantable September Accessories Subscription Box Review

Dear Vancity Girlfriends,

I'm calling it Wantable time!  Now this is a box that surprised us all!  Firstly I decided to order the Wantable September Accessories box and not tell Carolyn.  So she was surprised to unbox our first jewellery subscription box.  

When I first heard about Wantable Accessories box, I was hesitant because I didn't like the style of the boxes from the reviews.  The jewellery was too trendy or stylish for me.  Now I'm a classy lady and I love everyday jewellery that will last!  However as more reviews of the box came out I realized that the jewellery and the accessories box really is different each time depending on the person.  So of course if I'm reading a blog of a 20-something year old, her style is going to be completely different from mine.  That's where the personal style quiz comes into play.  The first thing that you do when you subscribe to Wantable is to answer a series of questions that tells about your personal style.  You can dislike, like, and love items.  

My September Wantable Accessories box really showed my personal style and the quiz worked!  I LOVED all of the pieces and am impressed with how well each piece suited me.  My Vancity Girlfirends also wowed at the Wantable box!

Wantable September Accessories Box

 I ordered the Wantable Accessories monthly box which is $46 US/month ($36 for box + $5 shipping to Canada + $5 duty).  The suggested retail value of the items in the box were valued at $88.  Overall I'm impressed with the quality and value of the Wantable September Accessories box. 


If you like my accessories style here is what I put on my personal style quiz.  
I love:  earrings, necklaces, watches, scarves, silver tone.  
I liked:  classic, glam, mix 'n match, bracelets, multi tone, wood, beads, skulls, inspirational text.  (PS I don't actually like skulls but I know Carolyn LOVES skulls so that was for gift giving purposes).
I dislike:  rock n' roll, boho, urban, rings, sunglasses, headbands, gold, acrylic, leatherette, and the rest.
