Throwback Thursday: The Breakfast Buffet at the River Rock Casino Resort

This week I'm going to share the good breakfast deal at The River Rock Casino Resort and that would be the breakfast buffet at The Buffet.

Even if you are not a gambler it is a good idea to still get an Encore card because it can save you a few dollars at The Buffet.  Encore cards are free and you just need a piece of ID to register usually at the casino customer service.  I already had my Encore card and was ready to save.

The breakfast buffet is from 6:30am - 10:30am so it is a morning buffet.  It is also cheaper because of this and is only $19.95 or $17.96 with an Encore card.  At the breakfast buffet they have coffee or tea and the assortment of juices.  They had an omlette station and fresh egg station, sausages, bacon, hash browns and your traditional Canadian breakfast.  They also had the Asian style breakfast with dim sum, rice rolls, and congee.  That is truly what I liked best.  The variety of the breakfast food.  Normally you have to choose between one or the other.  In this case there was no fighting over what type of breakfast joint to go to.  Everyone wins.  Being Chinese Canadian I had two plates and ate the best of both worlds.  I had my Asian style breakfast and then the Canadian breakfast for dessert!  It is perfect for getting together with picky eaters because everyone can go back and have whatever they want and it spend time together.

An added bonus is that the daytime view of The Buffet at the River Rock Casino Resort is quite beautiful even on a cloudy day it is possible to see the boats moored on the water.

Wine Wednesday - Lolea White Sparkling Sangaria

All year long I look forward to the girl's weekend and this year it was a staycation at the River Rock Casino.

We bring our wines and enjoy a weekend of relaxing, drinking, and eating.  Carolyn brought LOLEA white sparkling sangaria from Spain and it is such a fun bottle of wine!  It doesn't need any gift wrapping with this bottle with polka dots that sounds out from the rest of the bottles.  I love sparkling wine because of bubbles and light fruity flavours so I couldn't wait to try this bottle.

I loved it!  Carolyn said it reminded her of a Breezer cooler.  It was perfect for me!  Then when I checked out the LOLEA website I saw that you could even turn this into a fun punch for a party with crushed strawberries and a splash of vodka.  We drank it straight on ice this time and enjoyed every sip.

Throwback Thursday - Staycation at River Rock Casino Resort

National Blog Posting Month
Blogging Almost Everyday in November
#NaBloPoMo Day 24 - River Rock Casino Resort

I had a bit of a hiatus from #NaBloPoMo and it has been difficult to get back in the groove.  The good news is that the reason for my blogger's block is because of a wonderful staycation and girl's getaway at the River Rock Casino Resort.

First before you make your reservation you want to join iPrefer hotel rewards for free and then you are eligible for the freebies based on availability which include early check in/late check out, room upgrades, and a free appetizer.  It is not automatic so when you check in you still have to ask.

We stayed in a suite with a bedroom, living room, desk and chair and a large bathroom with a shower and bathtub.  My favorite was the chaise lounger by the window.  Of course what it did not have was two queen beds and I am no longer on hotel reservation duty.  Next year it will be someone else because I was swept away having a free upgrade and living in a suite that I didn't even think about the comfort of sleeping in a bed.  Of course I offered to sleep on the hide-a-bed but after a few drinks and being tipsy, everyone is invincible and plans change until the next morning.

It was a relaxing staycation and if I ever needed a break and had girlfriends who needed one too, I'd grab a few and totally return to the River Rock Casino Resort.
