Vancity Girlfriend Carolyn is an avid foodie and always wanted to try Chachi's at Metrotown Food Court. I guess pictures of Chachi sandwiches had hit Instagram and even though Chachi's has been open since May 2016, we figured it was better latet than never.
Even though I had seen the Chachi's sign in the food court, I never went because I wondered if a sandwich would fill me up for dinner. Not this time! It was a special food court date just to check out and taste Chachi's sandwiches. I decided to go for the Pulled Pork with Macaroni and Cheese sandwich. WOW! Macaroni and Cheese in a sandwich. Now that's a mouthful. I had a cherry iced tea to go with it. The sandwich was flavorful and delicious and it did not disappoint. Chachi's was worth it. The perfect dinner at the Metropolis food court.
As their box says Chachi's works with local bakeries, butchers and cheese makers and it shows. Yummy! We loved it and will be back. There are so many different hot sandwiches and options to try. What will it be next time?
Check out their website for more: http://www.chachis.ca/

Movie Monday: Trolls with Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake
National Blog Posting Month in November
Blogging Everyday
#NaBloPoMo Day 14 - Trolls Movie
What did I know of Trolls? It was an animated movie with Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake. Not much really. I vaguely remember Anna Kendrick on a late night talk show talking about her role but I didn't think much of it. An animated movie for kids, so what?
Then when my niece asked me to take her to the movie Trolls, of course, I said "Yes". What auntie wouldn't especially knowing that I probably only had a few more years when she would actually ask me before her pre-teens and then she would be too cool to spend time with me. Even more so because she was the youngest and knew that I wasn't really her "auntie" instead I was "Mom's friend who hangs out at the house a LOT." Hmm, interesting translation.
Anyways, I love those "Auntie Days" when I can spend time with her and make her happy and spoil her. So I don't need to know anything about a movie except for the fact that my niece wanted to go. Sometimes that's the best part when you don't know anything because then you can be pleasantly surprised.
And surprised I was. Trolls are such positive and happy creatures and I never knew that happiness could be spread through singing and dancing and hugging. With colours of the rainbow that light up the roads. There are so many feel good moments in Trolls and the best part is never hearing Justin Timberlake sing until the very end, and when he sings it is soo good. I loved Anna Kendrick's character Poppy because she is so bright and filled with positive energy.
All in all even though this is a kids movie and if you are going to watch it in the theatre, you better have the patience for kids. Otherwise wait until it comes out on DVD. It's best enjoyed with a niece or two. Watching Trolls with my niece was the highlight of my weekend. I didn't watch any movie trailers but hey maybe you want to. Don't forget to SING, DANCE, and HUG like TROLLS!

Metropolis at Metrotown - 50% Off Sale Items at Banana Republic
Dear Vancity Girlfriends,
This year my theme of the year is "Health & Fitness" so it's quite often that I'll find myself at Metrotown where it is dry and you can walk inside the mall and do window shopping at the same time. When walked by Banana Republic and looked at the sales signs I was in disbelief. 50% off the already marked down sale price. Then I went inside to take a look and tried on three different tops. There's not much left in medium but a LOT of stock if you are a large or xtra large. From my three tops that I tried on, I fell in love with one. The last marked price on the top was $30 but when I got to the register to pay for it, the price dropped to $15 because they take 50% off on the sale items.

WOW! What a steal! I love the quality of Banana Republic but usually can't afford their regular priced items and their sale items are my "normal" so this SALE is worth window shopping for. Remember it's "Final Sale" which means no refunds or exchanges.
Hurry before all the good stuff gets sold!

Japanese All You Can Eat (AYCE) Restaurant - Kawawa Japanese Restaurant
Dear Vancity Girlfriends,
If you like Japanese food, there is an "All You Can Eat" at Kawawa Japanese Restaurant at Metrotown.
My experience at Kawawa was during the Christmas rush so it was super busy at the mall. When we walked in the servers were madly seating the people who had been waiting and I knew that if I waited we would be seated next. I stood patiently until they were done and when I told them how many were in the party, we were seated right away. Kawawa is a comfortable sit down restaurant where you go if you want a meal and time to catch up with friends. The service is poor, obviously the servers were run off their feet, so I don't hold that against them. They did their job well and got our orders in and brought the food out. Even better is that they didn't rush us at all and let us stay and chat. We didn't really order well with our first round of ordering, but did better with our second. With all you can eat, you can try a lot of different food. We enjoyed the sushi rolls, sashimi, yakitori and my only advice is to order a LOT of food (the portion sizes are small). Just go crazy and order lots of different things to try. At $25 per person that is a reasonable price for all you can eat.

Vancouver Event: Cineplex Community Day
Hello Vancity Girlfriends,
I wanted to share a family friendly Community Event that is taking place at different Cineplex locations on Saturday, October 18th in the morning. It's called Cineplex Community Day and there will be free movies at Scotiabank Theatre downtown Vancouver and Silvercity Metropolis in Burnaby.
Now normally for family movies, there are animation films but there is one movie that caught my eye because it would be fun to watch on the big screen since it is an action packed movie. I've seen the movie before at home and it surprised me because I didn't expect the story and plot to be so well thought out. Often I avoid watching movie trailers because I want it to be a surprise but if you want to know what Divergent is all about, take a look at the movie trailer for this science fiction action movie below.
Divergent will be showing at 10am on Saturday, October 10th in Burnaby and Vancouver and well worth the FREE movie. All proceeds of the concession items, some will be $2, will go towards Free the Children charity.
Now I know that those on the east coast, like my cousin, who lives in Boston may be jealous because we are lucky enough here on the west coast to have a Cineplex Community Day.
Vancity Buzz Website: They have a good synopsis of all of the movies that are playing for free on Saturday, October 18th.
